Latest Media Releases Driver allegedly caught speeding with unrestrained child - near Goulburn Monday, 02 September 2013 12:44:58 PM A man has had his driver’s licence suspended after police allegedly caught him speeding three times in two days, and on one occasion with his young son unrestrained in the car. About 3.25pm yesterday (Sunday 1 September 2013), Goulburn Highway Patrol officers were performing stationary speed checks on the Federal Highway at Collector, south west of Goulburn. Police will allege they detected a grey-coloured Maserati travelling north at 173km/h in a sign-posted 110kp/h area. Officers subsequently stopped the car. While speaking with the driver, police observed the man’s eight-year-old son asleep and unrestrained on the back seat of the vehicle. A check of the man’s licence details revealed he had been detected speeding twice in the same vehicle the previous day (Saturday 31 August 2013). It’s alleged the car was clocked at 152km/h in Mittagong and 125km/h near Goulburn. As a result of the three speeding infringements, the man has been fined a total of $3827. Following yesterday’s incident, police issued the 36-year-old Campsie man with a field court attendance notice to appear in Goulburn Local Court on 25 September 2013. The man’s driver’s licence has been suspended until that date.
