Latest blog on reverbnation: Surprisingly, applying for a mortgage and early starts for work (amongst various other social things) has not stemmed the flow of my creative juices. In fact, I’ve managed to record a new song which is in the same catchy/bohemian mould as ‘a life to see’. Incidentally, ‘A life to see’ is a runaway favourite on my bandpage, although I suspect that may be as I’ve given it a fair amount of airtime on facebook and ...a 3 day promotional advert too. Yikes. It was actually free to do. I can see why the track is popular; it’s catchy (love it or loathe it), simple and well supported with my guitar. As others have tended to suggest, the solo is almost central to the whole piece as the first two choruses build up to it. It’s also a bit of a grower. I myself wasn’t all that keen at first, but I’ve come to enjoy listening to it myself to the point where I think I would download it, if I was a first-time listener..... So, the new sparkling track waiting in the wings is called ‘Broken Eggshells’. It’s very infectious, and again the song is gilded with an emotional guitar solo (two in fact cushion the last chorus). Not sure whether to release this as a kind of facebook single or else just stick it on the next album. Time will tell I’m sure. Bye all & take care!
