Latvian Literature Centre in cooperation with State Culture Capital Foundation has announced a contest Support for Foreign Publishers Publishing Latvian Literature, part of the cultural program Latvian Literature in the World, and invites applications from publishers worldwide. Rules and regulations, application forms, and information about the contest are available at the Latvian Literature Centre (LLC) and on the LLC’s Web site, literature.lv, under the heading “Support for Foreign Publishers.” Applications must be submitted or sent to the LLC by November 1, 2014 to address Pērses iela 14-8, Riga, LV-1011, Latvia. The aim of the contest Support for Foreign Publishers Publishing Latvian Literature is to provide financial support for foreign publishers in publishing Latvian literature, including classic literature, thereby increasing foreign publishers interest in Latvian literature and its translations. The contest is organized twice a year, in the spring and fall. Any foreign publisher has the right to take part in the contest. The submitter of the project can apply for financial support in publishing a book, including translation costs.
