Led through the mist by the milk-light of moon All that was lost - TopicsExpress

Led through the mist by the milk-light of moon All that was lost is revealed Our long bygone burdens, mere echoes of the spring But where have we come, and where shall we end? If dreams cant come true, then why not pretend? How the gentle wind beckons through the leaves As autumn colors fall These are the opening words to Over the Garden Wall, Cartoon Networks first (and so far only) series. I can not simply express how fantastic this series is. It is the BEST thing Cartoon Network has produced. The Story: With little spoilers possible, heres the story. Two brothers wind up lost in the woods in a land called the Unknown. They meet an old woodsman who warns them of a beast that will lure them and end their lives in the woods. He is corrupt and is relentless once he is one your trail. And sadly, thats about all I can give for the story without spoiling much. Some quick things to add.... episode 3 is the light-heartest episode of the 10 and provides some genuine fun and leaves you all warm and fuzzy for a while. Now, the final four episodes are what make this series fantastic. They are so emotionally packed, youll be amazed theyre from post 2006 Cartoon Network. The Characters: The older brother is protective and tries to be logical. Elijah Wood voices him and hes my favorite. Slightly stubborn, unsure of himself, full of insecurity, he has a good heart and pulls through. The little brother is simply adorable. Hes voiced by Collin Dean (an actual adorable little kid.) Hes optimistic, slightly annoying to his older brother, but his ideas are so out of the box, they usually work. There are more characters, but theyre our two mains, so thats just the start. To add though, the voice cast if spot on and filled with talents like Tim Curry and Christopher Llyod. The Music: If theres one thing that sums it up, its that its simple and you would probably hear it on a vinyl record or a phonograph. The music is from the 20s-30s and has a timeless charm to it. Theres no techno, no dubstep, no pop music, just simple orchestra with a big band song here and there. Its so well done that I would buy the album if Cartoon Network ever released it. And thats my review of this fantastic series. The official Cartoon Network channel has posted the first episode up for preview so if youre interest, climb over the wall and take a look. Link is down there. Also, if you have AT&T U-verse, the entire series is free to watch until 12/7 so theres still time. Each episode is about 11 minutes and theres 10 of them. Binge watching should only take a little less than 2 hours. With that, have a good night, evening, or morning! Enjoy your journey through the Unknown. https://youtube/watch?v=_Wc1-q1CX_E&channel=cartoonnetwork
