Ledgers are a convenient way of keeping score, but they do not bind us. Each generation has the opportunity to make its own history and we are not necessarily bound by the proceeding generation. While it presently appears the US ledger is irreversibly in the red, this doesnt necessarily burden our future generations unless they want to be burdened. Just on the subject of debt there are many ways to pay, avoid, ignore, offset, minimize, normalize, reassign, threaten, and even leverage. The secret of life is that each opportunity taken, opens up more opportunities.
