Legal Aid Agency Team Leader Job description The overall purpose of this post is to manage the operations of the Legal Aid team in processing the contribution assessments for payment of orders under the Criminal Legal Aid scheme. The post holder will possess excellent interpersonal skills, excellent organisational skills and must be a good communicator. You must be positive and self motivated, be able to work very closely with your team and lead by example. You will have a good knowledge and understanding of Excel, Word and One-Step, and be able to communicate these effectively. A proven track record in managing a Team, including managing conflict is desirable. Excellent people skills and the ability to motivate and be self motivated. 1. Main Responsibilities 1.1 To ensure a high standard of professional practice on the part of the staff and through personal example. 1.2 To monitor & document overall performance including time keeping and attendance. 1.3 To carry out Performance Reviews in accordance with company procedure. 1.4 To conduct on the job training and coaching to achieve and exceed targets. 1.5 To instil, promote and maintain working relationships with all levels of management, employees and clients. 1.6 To review and improve the current scheme in accordance with client requirements 1.7 To be the contact point for the Legal Aid Agency scheme for all internal and external dealings 1.08 Ensure all documents are dealt with according to client specification. 1.09 To carry out weekly quality checks on all departmental process; including feedback to the staff.
