Legendary Freedom Fighter, Allama Mashriqi – Well over 100,000 people attended his funeral. Allama Mashriqi died in Lahore on August 27, 1963. A pall of gloom prevailed across the country following his tragic death; condolence messages from followers and admirers came from all over the world. All along the funeral procession, the public gathered to pay tributes to their leader and showered his body with flowers. Mashriqi left behind a lasting legacy of combating injustice, communalism, and sectarianism.
