Lesson: OUR PLANS ARE NOT GODS PLAN. In chapters 7&8 of Acts we have 3 main stories with one main point. OUR PLANS ARE NOT GODS PLANS. The first story tells of Stephen who is one of the 7 appointed by the apostles to distribute food. In the previous chapters he was known as a man full of grace and power, Who went around the city doing great wonders and miracles. Stephen was framed by the Sanhedrin for blasphemy and arrested. He defends himself by telling them a speech from Abraham to Moses. The final statement makes them angry when he says that the Jews rejected GODS messengers in the past and most recently they rejected Jesus. They become so angry that they by pass taking him to court. They drag him out of the city and stone him to death, as a young man named Saul looks on approvingly. From that day forward a great persecution to kill the Christian community, causes them to scatter far away from the cities to avoid being killed. All except the apostles. After the Apostles hear that the people of Samaria have Accepted the Word of GOD. they send Peter and John to go and teach. Many people believe and are baptized including Simon the magician. Who after seeing the 2 apostles touch the people and they received the Holy Ghost tried buying it. He was immediately rebuked by Peter and told to repent. Because his heart was not right with GOD. The story then goes to Phillip and the eunuch whom he helps to study in the book of Isaiah. After he baptises him he leaves him and goes out to spread the word of GOD. In the meantime Saul has started going from city to city and house to house persecuting and killing the Christians. As you can see with each of these stories OUR PLANS ARE NOT GODS PLANS. We may see our future one way and its ok to plan. Just keep in mind to always pray that whatever you do goes into GODS will. For he will lead you into the direction that you are to go in, and its not always what we think it should be. As we will begin to see. Including from a Christian killer whose name is Saul.
