Let loose (Poem for mama) This is a road less travelled, I did not see me creeping, Yet am here now. The inevitable has happened. Mama am grown now. Am a big boy with big dreams. Am a lion on the loose, I escaped from your embrace Without you noticing. Biologically am your son, Biblical speaking you worth my respect and all. Scientifically you the only woman I will hold closely to my heart till the end of time. Yet am still going on with these lines. Mama am grown now. I did not see this coming, But this world needs me. I am a product of what you taught me, Lord knows how grateful I am. Let loose, my mistakes have taken over. Still I am, the prophet of all your good deeds. Mama am grown now. Let loose, either way you have lost me mama. This world needs me, Not only for keeps, When I shine, you shine. I am after all, the product of your sweat and tears. Mama am grown now! These streets keep calling my name, You can smile cause I wont answer. All thats mine to do, Is to live like you always hoped I will, And show the world what good came out of you! Mama your boy is a man now. Pray always, cry never. Your son is doing it, not in your name, But for you! Let loose, so you can enjoy the joy of having raised me the way you did. Mama am grown now!
