Let me discuss METHODOLOGY. When I was a Protestant layman and then University trained minister it was my duty to refute heretical cults such as the Watchtower, Mormonism etc. They have a common methodology in their attacks on Protestant Christianity. First destroy the Catholic Church and Faith from whence most Protestantism descends and still retains the essentials of Nicene and Chalcedonian Christianity...then destroy the Protestants by revealing their disunity and rivalries. THIS REALLY FRIED ME!!!!! But they have a logical methodology, but selectively cite and misrepresent those facts they present from Catholic and Protestant sources. Where did these Cults which came from Protestantism get this Methodology and self serving Propagandist Nature?? FROM PROTESTANTISM!!! The Reformation movement started this nonsense and their High Priest came to be Alexander Hislop and his work: THE TWO BABYLONS! All the rest of Protestant anticatholics rely on his work....poorJack Chick and Alberto Rivera. Odd logic though......if you deem Catholicism semi-pagan, then Protestantism, which retains Catholic Dogma (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Holy Matrimony, Clergy, Trinity, Christ is God and Man, celebration of the Lords Day etc,etc, etc...) is still semi-pagan! It was a time bomb just waiting for the Cults! Thus Protestantism has within itself two self destruct mechhanisms: Sola Scrptura and Anti-Catholic Polemics. These two things caused me to re-think the Buffet that is Protestantism and to rely on my Koine Greek training and the Greek Fathers....... In a way....Protestantism has a return to Catholicism ejection system for those who realize the existance of the two self destruct mechanisms. So....when you Protestants get upset at the Cults for lumping you with the Catholics and misrepresenting Christian Scriptures, History, Tradition and Academics ... remember your Movement Authored this Methodology and you have an ejection seat if you ever want to discover the Historic Christian Faith and Body of Christ - We come in 23 Flavors.
