Let us surrender our anxiety to Christ and feel light Anxiety weighs down a man’s heart Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid (Jn 14:27) the Lord commands. Anxiety weighs us down. It is our weakness, while the joy of the Lord is our strength. His joy is to be found in His Presence. So we are joyful simply by being in His Awesome Presence. We rest in His Presence and our hearts are not troubled even amidst troubles. Why? Because although ‘in the world we will have trouble, He has conquered the world’ (Jn 16:33). The hidden character of the heart, expressed in the imperishable beauty of a gentle and calm disposition, is precious in the sight of God (1 Peter 3:4). We rely on the strength of His Arm to pull us out of all situations (Jn 12:38). Many are the troubles of the just, but the Lord delivers them all (Psalm 34:20). Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil (Mathew 6:34).
