Lets Play... A couple of days ago someone asked me about my tattoos - here’s a list of my 8 - what do you have? 1. Lower back memorial tattoo - drawn by my best friend who we all thought was dead but turns out is just living the good life as a gutter punk in a big van in the east - Sun, Moon, Stars and Infinite Wind 2. Left wrist - got it on my six month clean date to remind myself that God makes the most beautiful things out of the muck - Lotus flower 3. Upper Spine - a reminder to live my life intentionally, written in Chinese to remind myself of the children that I was working to exploit before leaving abruptly due to soul-breaking pain of the realization that money had become more important than humanity - Compassion, Acceptance and Understanding 4. Full Left Calf - a reminder of a hike I took in Moab, UT with my 1-year old daughter strapped to my back, in flip flops, in August - Kokopelli dancing in the wind with Top of the World Mountain in the background 5. Half Sleeve, Right Arm - pieces of each of my family member and my tattoo artist - Lillies for my daughter Lily, horsetail grass for my step-daugther Chloe, a river for my husband and and Iris for my favorite tattoo artist Mo. 6. Right wrist - a reminder that even though we could not be together, we would always love each other - “LOVE written in trees”, designed by my now deceased husband. 7. Right foot - A memorial tattoo for my lost family - “Tis the Set of The Soul” as the wake of a sailboat and three birds for my dad, husband and neice. 8. (As of April 13) Right Thigh - As I begin the process to become a priest I want to always be reminded of why I’m choosing this and who I am doing it for - Psalm 82:3,4 - “Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless, Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed, Rescue the weak and the needy, Deliver them from the hands of the wicked.”
