Lets see if anybody else thinks this is rude. I was standing in line at the grocery store and I had a bottle of wine on the conveyor belt in front of me along with a few other things that I was picking up. The bottle was standing up with the label turned so it couldnt be seen by anyone behind me. It wasnt planned, just the way it ended up on the checkout lane. So, the lady behind me sees the bottle and says, So, whatcha drinkin ? Picks up the bottle, turns it around, looks at the label and asks if its any good and if weve had it before. Excuse me, but handling someone elses food just doesnt seem like the proper thing to do. The one exception would be if someone dropped something and you helped them pick it up. But picking something up off the checkout lane? NO. If youre curious, ask. Ill be happy to tell you what kind of wine I have. How do I know Im not going to get sick from some germs she put on the bottle? She said her husband had a chest infection.
