Lets start by getting into the Xmas sprit by giving you all a song you all know it, Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way, all what fun it is to see COMETS win away ( and repeat). So what can I say apart from another well deserved win after beating one of our main rivals today Melbourn Juniors 6-3. On a big and heavy pitch Comets looked again in control with a few early breaks and then we got clear through and Alex chipped the keeper and while turning away to celebrate the ball hit the inside of the post and was cleared and then Melbourn with their long balls hit us on 14 minutes to take an early lead and make it 1-0. Comets kept at it trying to play football without it really working as we wanted but On 18 minutes Alex cut inside on the right and tried to cross the ball for the defender to handball it for a penalty. Charlie M stepped up and put the ball into the corner to make it 1-1, however we was not closing the ball down well enough and Melbourn broke through to somehow make it 2-1 on 25 minutes and again went 3-1 up on 30 minutes. Comets on 33 minutes scored to make it 3-2 with an Ethan assist who put through William to bust the back of the net to take us into half time at 3-2. The half time team talk was all about desire and the game will come to us if we just keep going and that is what we did if a good Comets performance. 2 minutes into the 2nd half a poor clearance saw Bailey get the ball and take the ball into the area and shoot into the corner to make it 3-3, then on 43 minutes Alex set up Ethan to make it 4-3 and finally take control of the game. On 59 minutes we got a corner and Charlie M put a lovely ball over for Ethan to slot home to make it 5-3 and on 70 minutes Charlie M put through Alex to score and make the final score 6-3, it could have been a lot more with Charlie M hitting the cross bar 3 times but a good performance.
