Lets talk about restaurants for a bit. On Thursdays, Harrys day - TopicsExpress

Lets talk about restaurants for a bit. On Thursdays, Harrys day starts at 5am. Mine starts at 7am. We had a show today so were pretty tired by 5pm. We decided to go over to Home Place for dinner as its close to home. As some of you know, I use to be a cook in a resort restaurant and was my own waitress during the week. I only had a waitress on weekends. So I can be pretty particular. Obviously, having worked in the business, Im pretty picky about restaurants and the service/food I receive. I tip well for good service/food. We have been known to leave a 40% tip for excellent service. We went into the restaurant and sat in a booth by the fireplace. I sat on the outside of the bench so our waitress could see that she had a new table. They were not too busy as it was a bit prior to dinnertime; also there were two waitresses and a waiter tending tables. So there was plenty of wait-staff at the time. Our waitress walked back and forth from table to kitchen to table without looking our direction once. She tended to the table next to us twice and ignored us. When she finally looked our way she said, Ill be with you in a minute. To which I said, Thank you and scooted over to the middle of the bench. We sat there and watched her come back and forth from the kitchen 3 more times tending to tables WITH NO MENUS IN HER HAND!! A waitress should never enter or leave that kitchen empty-handed! There is always something to do! After the third time she ignored us, we got up and left. We decided to try 3 Ten Water. We had not been there as of yet and figured it was about time to try it. We walked in the door and were immediately greeted and seated by the sweetest young woman who ended up also being our waitress. We were brought water, menus, and asked if we wanted anything else before we were there for 3 minutes. Even though they were preparing for a very large group to arrive, we were not left forgotten. Our sweet waitress even brought us some of the appetizers (on the house) that were also being served to the very large group. She said the cook had made more than needed. It was Delicious! We ordered our food and enjoyed watching the group having fun. (cheap entertainment) Our dinner was Delicious as well, I had the New York Steak, Harry had a cheeseburger. For dessert, which Im usually too full for, was Coconut Cream Pie. YUM! I had chosen the Marion Berry Cream Pie, but they were out. A good reason to return. We were so happy with our waitress and the service we received, our delicious food and the fun we had watching a Christmas celebration unfold. Our bill came to only $40 and we left our waitress a very generous tip. We came home two very happy diners. Thank you 3 Ten Water for a wonderful evening!!
