Letter to the editor Question mark on CBI - TopicsExpress

Letter to the editor Question mark on CBI State is vested with the power of legislation and when they go wrong, the judiciary come in aid of the people and gives right directions to the state. At present the establishment ofg CBI is under scanner because it constitution had not been in a legal manner. The state must try to correct its wrongs and ensure that this agency remains in existence. The local police is not functioning well because when the people are in power, the state police keeps silence and there is no case where it could arrest a functionary. When the next government comes in power, they start cases against old rulers, but till that date most of the evidence is lost and cases cannot be established. The CBI must be given power to have an eye even on the state functionaries so that the state police could guard the state functionaries. Before final verdict comes from the Apex Court, the people expert in law must examine the constitution of CBI and if minor defects are there, those should be removed. CBI is a must for having an eye on the top functionaries because they are committing all scams, scandals, muddles, taking commissions and big bribes. Police system established by the British is not in a position to have an eye on the top functionaries. The PM says that the CBI should be under the State could be correct, but its control should not be with the government, but there should be a special agency to have control on CBI and under the present circumstances, we can give this control to the Apex Court and they should monitor all activities of the CBI.
