Lettuce Pray Salad for your Soul Based on the lectionary readings for Sunday 21st December 2014 Advent 4 Year B copyright Jacob van Gent 2014 Monday 15th December 2014. Read 2 Samuel 7:1-7. Sometimes we think we know what God wants and go ahead and do it. It would be best to seek Him out first and find out what He really wants. Tuesday.16th December 2014. Read 2 Samuel 7:8-11, 16. Finally, a permanent home for Israel, Gods People. God doesnt want buildings where He can dwell, because God dwells everywhere. He has establish a permanent home for us through Jesus Christ. Wednesday 17th December 2014. Read Psalm 89:1-4. Here we again read about the promise of God to give His people, us, a permanent home. We have a King who rules, Jesus Christ. He rules with power. Power to forgive, power to save. Thursday 18th December 2014. Read Psalm 89:19-26. I am looking forward to Christmas. The family and friends getting together, the food, the presents (giving and receiving). Most of all I look forward to celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Friday 19th December 2014. Read Luke 1:26-33. The first time I read this I thought WOW!!!. I still do after many years and many reads. Gods word never loses its intensity. Saturday 20th December 2014. Read Luke 1:34-38. Mary is a great example to all people. She is a young virgin, who is told by Gods messenger that she is going to get pregnant and give birth to a Son, The Son of God. The words that really strike me here are Marys words I am the Lords servant, may it be done to me according to Your word. Mary is a true person of God. Sunday 21st December 2014. Read Romans 16:25-27. Paul wraps up his letter to the Romans with a blessing and reminder to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to give glory to God through faith in Him. Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever 2 Samuel 7:16 NIV.
