~Let’s Celebrate… I’ve shown this before (oddly enough, about this time of year), but on this Veterans Day (IMHO) it bears repeating…. A classic song was first presented in film on this date, November 11, 1938. The song became the trademark of Kate Smith – a phenomenal singer that many of our under 40 folks might night recognize. Kate Smith sang God Bless America for the very first time. Irving Berlin penned the tune in 1917 but never released it until Miss Smith sang it for the first time on her radio broadcast. Be sure to watch as well as listen to the video - and remember - it was made one year before WW II started in Europe, and 3 years before the US came in to the war. Unfortunately, we are seeing much more tearing apart than unifying today – in politics, in the news media, in social media….
