Level IV – Reiki Master Teacher – Shihan – Week 2 Day 3 - Intuition and Intention During the Practitioner part of our program two words mention a lot but never fully explained; Intention and Intuition. Intent and intuition seem to go hand in hand. Intuition isnt based on logical reasoning; actually it’s a type of perception, a knowing that just is. On the other side, intention is connected with our actions. We choose to do something and we act based on that choice, our determination to do something, then doing it. We also studied, reviewed and practiced hand positions for both self and others. Practice leads to integration into being, the longer we practice we begin trusting self more and more. Through self-trust we build our intuition. The more we practice our self-trust becomes stronger and in turn so does our Intuition, that “just knowing.” Intuition is magical; it feels absolutely right when you begin to “feel” it. Allow Intuition to be our guide, “Intuitive Decisions lead to Positive Intentions.” Many say the quality and strength of our intention is the important thing with our Reiki practice is. However, as we become more experienced we learn that intuition and intention are hand in hand, complementing each other. If Intuition is that “just knowing feeling,” our “gut Instincts” what is intention? Well Intentions are decision we make to manifest a specific positive outcome. An Example: My intention is to finish writing this post. Other examples might be: “My intention is to have a happy and productive day” or maybe, “my intention is to write the story of my Dad, “The Last Country Bumpkin,” a ‘Wise Man Speaks Country’ For us in Reiki, “my intention is to send Attunement for Level __ to __Name___ located in __________. The same way with healing and other purposes, “My intention is to open a Reiki business of healing and teaching. When setting our intentions, we really need to be as specific and clear as possible. Sometimes this may be a little difficult, so here is an excise to help. Soon after we get out of bed and grab our first cup of coffee or tea, think about a target for our intention. In the beginning start with something small, and think about something you want, then say it clearly in a simple sentence starting with I intend. Maybe like, “I intend to have a relaxing lunch with my friend, we will eat some delicious food and have an awesome conversation.” Now release your intention to your higher self, the universe, God, angels, Source. “See” your intention grow wings and fly away. Practice this for several days, on small things at first, but each day begin to think a bigger and bigger things until you’re able to work on larger things.
