Liberal celeb going Galt??? Video report on Robert Redford starving the NY State beast of some tax dollars being assessed for his sale of The Sundance Channel. Are you sitting down? Theres even an appeal to the Constitution! While the commentary makes allusion to the need for tax reforms, what isnt spoken of, but screams out for attention, is what Redford would otherwise do with this $1.4M. I would guess hes not claiming that he doesnt have the money, and Redford is probably not going to be persuaded to pay on the argument that he has a patriotic duty to do so. Hes not giving up his money to the NY politicians to spend, maybe because he plans to spend the money for some nature conservation program, or perhaps to help some program for the needy, or to help get some independent film off the ground. Maybe his ski resort is needing some upgrades. Maybe, heaven forbid, hes actually going to keep it invested in something that will make him a profit! The point is (and I wonder if he would even acknowledge it), he thinks he can make better use of the money than the government can.
