It is represented by dedicated and knowledgeable staff, strong print and electronic collections, and a quality-driven service ethic. It is also a place of innovation and is proudly developing new facilities and services to meet the changing needs of our clients. We are looking for an experienced, dynamic librarian to serve the staff and students in the Social Work, Psychology, Natural Medicine, Dietetics and Academic Literacy departments. Requirements for appointment are: BBibl degree or equivalent qualification, a minimum of three years’ relevant experience, experience in a will be an added advantage, together with evidence of the following competencies: leadership and management skills • experience in group training • excellent communication and interpersonal skills • effective planning and organisational ability• familiarity with trends in the world of information management and scholarly publication • research knowledge and research support skills • exposure to reference work within the health sciences or some subject knowledge relevant to the above-mentioned academic departments would offer an advantage Main duties and responsibilities will involve: • Participation in outreach programme and liaison with academic staff • Planning, coordination and delivery of information literacy training that is integrated with coursework • Participation in the general user education training programme • Collections management and development • Development of online resources such as subject guides • Advocacy in support of the UWC Research Repository• Participation in research support activities and training programmes • Participation in evening and Saturday duties. Faculty Librarians work within the Information Services team and also cooperate with other Library Section Heads to achieve broader Library goals.
