Library management training begins at Tawang ITANAGAR, Sept 06:- A four days training programme on ‘Library Management’ organized jointly by Department of Public Libraries, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh and Raja Rammohan Roy Library Foundation, Kolkata, Ministry of Culture, Govt of India, began at District Library, Tawang on Friday. The programme was inaugurated by Tawang Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Dev in the presence of district officials including HoDs and the Superintendent of Police and professional departmental librarians gathered from across the State. The DC, in his inaugural address, emphasized on library automation and for over all development of the library. He further advocated to projecting the District Library, Tawang as a Model Library. Other HoDs of Tawang also put forward their valuable suggestions for the development of the Library. S Mukhuty, Asstt Director, Raja Rammohan Roy Library Foundation, and the administrative officer K Tari on behalf of Director of Public Libraries, J Borang also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, the function was started with B K Roy, DL&IO, Tawang delivering the welcome address. Dr D K Pandey, Asstt Librarian, Rajiv Gandhi University, Doimukh was the resource person.
