Libud sa Pulu, ulok-ulok. Small fish, juveniles of abo. The teen size of abo is abo-abo. Ulok-ulok and abo-abo are caught among the hipon trapped in the net we call salap. Salap is very fine meshed that it can trap hipon (kryll), putian shrimps, abo-abo, and many other local marine species that go with the tide along our municipal waters here in Pulupandan. Ulok-ulok is best cooked as paksiw or pinamalhan with just oil, vinegar, a little soy sauce and garlic. Best paired with kalo-kalo rice.
