Life Lesson: Had to have a serious life lesson chat with my mini me earlier in the week. She has a big dance performance coming up tomorrow where she will be displaying a talent. She was very distraught because she kept messing up and could not get the dance quite right. She starts breaking down crying and in frustration lays completely out on the floor and says Ill never get this. I just want to give up and not do it. My response was, Get up! Youre not dead, its not killing you. So what.. you made a mistake..BIG DEAL...youre not going to get everything right in life. The fact that you make a mistake does not matter, the fact that you get torn all the way down does not matter. Its ok to mess up, its ok to not quite get it. But if you mess up, if you fall and you dont GET BACK UP, then you fail and that is a shame. Whats important when you make a mistake, is that you dont give up. As long as blood is flowing through your body, you KEEP TRYING. KEEP MOVING. You might make another mistake. Oh well, KEEP MOVING FORWARD. Take it as a lesson learned and KEEP MOVING FORWARD. We all make mistakes but its how you respond to the mistake that determines whether you fail or whether you succeed. Actually my rant with her went on for a lot longer because I wanted to be sure that she understood at the tender age of 8 years old the importance of PUSHING FORWARD and NOT GIVING UP. So, with that said, I say to all of you viewing this, DONT GIVE UP...KEEP TRYING...KEEP MOVING FORWARD!! As long as blood flows through your body you have another chance to GET IT RIGHT. Praise God for that! My dear friend Keisha Harris is a prime example of someone who NEVER GAVE UP! Her story is unique to say the least yet very powerful.
