Life in Beijings wasteland city Just a few blocks away from the scenic Olympic Forest Park in Beijing, a shabby, desolated village quietly hides itself between the streams of buildings, amid the hustle and bustle of a metroplis. The village was once the largest existing waste recycling area in Beijing, with nearly 30 thousand residents living here almost a decade ago. The residents today still make their living by collecting and sorting waste, and transferring them to other places to be processed.
