Life is too short to drive a car that you don’t love, to live in a house that doesn’t take your breath away, and to participate in work that you don’t enjoy. Today I want to talk about seven reasons to have lots of money. I’m writing this article as a way of motivating you to believe for more. Somebody’s probably thinking, “Well, money won’t make you happy!” Yeah, well poverty won’t either ignorant, that’s not the purpose of money; the purpose of money is to solve problems. Today I want to talk about some of the problems that money can solve. If you never know of the problems that money solves, you may never pursue it. Without “pursuit” you don’t qualify “for anything.” Pursuit is the proof of desire; it’s requisite for attainment. You had to pursue your spouse, your career, and everything else that you value. But before you pursued it, you had to first recognize its value. So today I want to discuss the value of money, if you can see money’s value, then you will pursue it, you will qualify for it, you will attain it. So please don’t take the following “seven reasons to have money” as boasting from me, my point is solely to inspire. 7 Reasons to Have Lots of Money: 1. Nice Homes There’s nothing quite like a large beautiful home, a safe haven for you and your family, a place where you can protect your focus and escape from the “hustle-and-bustle” associated with life. A large home is nice because you’re able to comfortably accommodate guests …and it’s just plain fun. One Christmas we invited our entire family to Atlanta, and I actually lost my wife in our home. You want a house so large that it’s possible to get lost in it. 2. Cool Cars Life is way too short to travel in some “beat-up” car for the entire journey. I used to ride in an “old” 1989 Honda Accord LXi, that didn’t have a functioning air-condition, so I understand that sometimes you have to make-do with what you have, but you also have to be able to perceive more. I would always walk by “cool” cars and see myself driving them. Not in some attempt to manifest them, it’s just something that I did, and now I’m able to drive in such cars. There’s just this great feeling associated with driving down Interstate 75 with the top down in a luxury convertible. At some point in your life…you need to have a car that puts a smile on your face. The truth is, you will step out of a Mercedes-Benz SL 500, differently then you step out of a Kia Sophia, there’s going to be a difference, you’ll see. 3. Exotic Vacations You have to see the world! I’ve traveled to every state within the United States except Alaska, many of them numerous times. I’ve traveled Europe. I’ve vacationed in Hawaii six times; I’ve been on numerous cruises in the Caribbean, and this is all in my twenties. Life is too short not to spend it seeing the world; you must see the world…you will see the world. 4. Landscapers and Housekeepers I’ve never owned a “real” lawnmower, and I say a “real” lawnmower, because I did purchase a “robot” lawnmower a few years ago. However after a few weeks I grew somewhat tired of “watching it,” trying to ensure it didn’t run over anyone’s pet, and so I hired a landscaper. (I have to admit, the robot lawnmower was fun to watch; when I took it out people would stop by and take pictures of it in action.) Housekeepers, this is my wife’s personal favorite, I’m pretty sure my wife or I haven’t cleaned a toilet in the last decade. You should get to a point in your life, where your time has become so valuable that you can’t afford to spend it cleaning toilets. If you don’t have a life where your time is that valuable, then you need to get one. 5. First Class There’s a dignity associated with flying First Class, life is too short to sit in the back for the “whole ride.” Try First Class one time, if you can… …If you’ve never flown First Class before, and funds are limited, you don’t have to purchase a First Class ticket when you book your next flight. But, when you get to the airport, ask the friendly folks at the counter how much it would cost for you to upgrade to First Class, it’s usually much cheaper if you upgrade at the airport. This is a good starting point to flying First Class consistently. The difference between First Class and Coach for me is often a difference of wanting to travel versus “just traveling.” I don’t really like to travel Coach. Work to live a life that puts you in First Class. …They tell me once you fly on a private jet, you never want to fly commercial again. I’ll let you know when I get there, maybe we’ll get there together, maybe you’re already there. 6. Charity You need to have enough money to take care of your needs, your family’s needs, and your neighbors needs. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could buy your parents their dream home, or build a school in Africa? You need money to do those things, so don’t fight against money, don’t say it’s not important. If you attack wealth, you will attract lack. Money is not evil, it’s good, and it gives you the ability to do good, to make a difference, to change the world. 7. Choices When it’s all said and done, what you really want is the ability to choose. I happen to like Mercedes-Benz, but you may not, you may like to drive a pick-up truck; you may enjoy seeing those extra dollars in the bank. Money gives you the ability to choose. As an example, when it comes to “wine,” my favorite wine is a Chardonnay by Arbor Mist, for $3.99. You can’t convince me that it’s not the absolute best tasting wine in the world. Some may claim that my pallet isn’t mature or that I haven’t tasted the right wine, but I don’t know about that. I just like what I like, a $2,000 bottle of wine just seems like a waste to me, but that’s just me… What’s important is that money gives us the ability to have the things we really desire. Whether it’s a $3 bottle of wine, the latest gadgets, the nicest clothes, or the finest foods, money gives you a choice as to how you’re going to live.
