Life lessons I learned from running the 10K: ...You cant just show up to the race. It takes months of preparation. ...Still nothing like ‘running’ a red on Merrick Blvd. while the cops watch ;) ...Just concentrate on putting the next foot forward…and then the next. Everything will all work out. ...It doesnt matter how fast anyone else is running….you have to go at your own pace. ...Just when you think you cant do anymore…watch the guy in the wheelchair roll by! ...People don’t think rabbis know how to run. ...Don’t get distracted by the music and crowds on the side. It looks exciting and enticing but remember, that is not why you are here. ...When the going gets tough, focus on the finish line and don’t let it out of your site. ...When running a race, you have a lot of time to think about life lessons. ...If you try to catch up to others, you will probably trip and fall. ...Pain is temporary when you realize it is working towards a bigger goal ...Once you finish the 10K, don’t settle! Half marathon…here I come!
