Life#strange# after being in GP for 20 years and and working as a Director for 11 years Media Liaison/Public Diplomacy ;mingled with 2Acting Chief Director tenures @ the Presidency,followed by a stint in New York during our tenure at the UN Security Council; I come back to S A and for an entire year am.at a crossroads work wise. When I finally get headhunted for a Chief Director post as Govt Spokesperson for the Eastern Cape; I assume my official duties in April after a year of being in a career wilderness As I start to warm up in my new responsibility minus the teething problems of uprooting my entire Life with its major headaches; I get 2 separate calls today; one for a DDG post in a national Department and one as an Adviser of a recently appointed Minister. I have been staying in a guesthouse without the luxury of my books and jazz collection; ( which matter to me more than flat screen TVs)my entire furniture at Storage in Pretoria. It goes without saying that the salaries in both job offers are a much better improvement than the Chief Director one; but guess what; I aint going back to Jozi because I Iove this place. i feel that I belong here and guess what at this point in my Life; this is all that matters. Sadly; I will have to refuse the better paying offers; because sometimes; the beauty of an Eastern Cape sunset on a winter afternoon; has no match for anything else in the world right now
