“Lifes most persistent and urgent question is, What are you doing for others?” ― Martin Luther King Jr. In 2006, Williamson Rock, one of the premier sport climbing areas in Southern California, was closed to all public recreation. Now we have a chance to bring back this spectacular climbing area. The USDA Forest Service, Angeles National Forest (ANF) is conducting a survey “to consider resuming recreation opportunities in the currently closed area, in and around Williamson Rock.” Spreading the word and sharing this post with as many people as you can and the more positive feedback means a better chance to soon have this gem open to climbing again. You can help by sending an email to [email protected] and let ANF know that you would like to see Williamson Rock reopened for recreation year-round.
