Lightning Fall 4-3 To Coral Glades The Cypress Bay Varsity team lost to Coral Glades 4-3 on Monday night. All was not lost, as catcher Devin Ramirez pitched a dominate inning in relief, striking out the side. His emergence on the mound, gives the coaching staff added depth. In addition to the discovery of Ramirez, Alex Rodriguez made his Fall debut, giving up one run allowing only one infield hit. Senior Luis Sucre pitched two scoreless innings to start the contest. But the Coral Glades pitching staff did just enough to quiet the Bay bats. Anthony Figueroa had an RBI single in the 3rd inning and hits by Javier Ortiz and Raul Quintero led to both scoring on a fielders choice and subsequent error. The fall is really our Spring Training, said Bay manager Paul Liotti. Winning is our secondary goal, however playing well should translate into us being more consistent. We are at the point in the fall season where we are developing our depth charts. Guys have to make the most of their opportunities. The Lightning are back in action on Wednesday night vs. Taravella at Cypress Bay Park.
