Like Pastor Greg and his family, many of us celebrate Christmas with a heavy heart because we have loved ones who have passed away at some point. Yet knowing they died in the Lord Jesus makes ALL the difference! As Scripture says, we do not grieve like those in the world who are without hope (do not know Christ) — for we know the separation is not permanent but merely temporary. Besides that, they really are in a much better place. Indeed, its infinitely better! Thus, Pastor Greg reminds us that we dont need to sorrow for our loved ones who are celebrating Christmas in heaven. Yes, its true that we do sorrow for ourselves over their absence, but at the same time he exhorts us to remember to let the ones on earth you love know it. Tell them verbally. Because you never know if you or I or someone we hold dear might be in heaven next Christmas. For this reason, our hope (absolute assurance in Christ), he encourages us: So have a blessed and merry Christmas day. And so we can. AMEN!
