Like the rest of the nation, I am watching the situation in Ferguson, MO. It is quite apparently a community with many underlying problems. One only has to look at the economic data from the community to understand that there is bound to be a lot of frustration for the residents. However, at this point, no one knows enough about the Wilson / Brown incident to draw solid conclusions. From personal experience, I know that officer-involved shootings and other self-defense claim shootings require meticulous analysis of the physical and testimonial evidence. It often takes between a few and several weeks to sort out the facts. Justice is not served by anyone attempting to draw conclusions that are made absent the facts. This can only occur when those facts are established through a thorough investigation process. Those who do jump to unproven conclusions run the risk of misleading the public and destroying their credibility in the eyes of the public. Let us all pray for peace in that community.
