We view it as a military powerhouse. We view it as firecrackers and celebrations, even as a type of food we can get as take-out. However, we dont often think about the people. We dont think of China as anything more than 1 billion plus and climbing. Its an abstract idea for many Americans to consider that these are real people, with real jobs, and real lives. Having traveled throughout Asia, Ive seen many changes over the many years Ive visited. Its growing up, and with growing up comes growing pains and grown up problems. Among them, divorce rates in China are skyrocketing. Theyre nowhere near the US (where rates are falling), but its enough of a concern that government agencies and private NGOs are creating videos like this in an attempt to strengthen the Chinese family unit. Traditionally, this has been extremely strong, but in the modern era, its weakening as careers, money, and excesses grow.
