Limavady U14s 1 v 5 Magherafelt Sky Blues U14s Vital win for the Blues. The U14s made the trip to a cold wet and windy Limavady on Friday night for what was on paper a difficult fixture.Limavady started the game at a frantic pace and pressed the Blues into defence at every opportunity and were unlucky not to score when their centre forward hit the post with a long range shot. Michael Stewart who had a superb match and Aaron Mc Kee teamed up to counter the threat of Limavadys only out which was to rely on their number nine running at the defence and shooting from distance.Things were to change very quickly when Cormac Murphy took a grip of the game and despite playing the lone striker roll score two goals to put his team in a commanding position at halftime. Murphy continued to terrorise the home defence in the second half and scored two more goals which totally demoralised Limavady who could not make any headway against a solid midfield of Pearse Mc Larnon,Sam Hardy and Cormac Mc Larnon who was having his first full game of the season. The Blues were now in total control and despite conceding a soft goal ran out easy winners.Michael Stewart capped a great performance with a wonder strike to the top corner of the net to give the Blues a fantastic 5-1 victory. This was without doubt the best performance of the season and with four goal this weeks man of the match is Cormac Murphy.
