Linda Kay Walker Posey a friend and classmate passed away. The following is her obituary. July 22, 2014 Linda Kay Posey, age 65, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at her home. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Garden of Memories Cemetery with Reverend Kary Fry officiating. McCoy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Linda was born Sept. 23, 1948 in Sweetwater to the late Jasper (Jap) Walker and Melba (Chandler) Walker. She graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1967 where she was a twirler of the Big Red Mustang Band. She had worked for Connie’s Fashions, Harp Vending, Rycroft’s Vending Varieties, Walker Exxon and retired from Big Country Electric in Roby. Survivors include her husband, Richard Posey of Sweetwater; sons, Terry Hall and wife Melissa of Kerrville, Russell Hall and girlfriend Jackie Tilly and son Erek of Sweetwater, Steve Posey and wife Debra of Sweetwater; and her brother, Jimmy Walker and his son Joshua (Josh), both of Sweetwater. She is also survived by her grandsons, Christopher Hall and wife Andi and children Logan, Zachary, Holden and Jay Jay all of Roscoe; Jesse Hall and wife April and children Jesse James and Grady, all of Roscoe, Matthew Hall and wife Mandy and children Kaleb and Kyler, all of Sweetwater and Rick Posey of Sweetwater; granddaughters, Jessica Morris and husband Robert and children Ivy, Maggie and Braxton all of Kerrville, Brittany Arispe and husband David and children Zachery and Zalen, all of Colorado City and Stephanie McCorkle and husband Ryan and son Kasen of Sweetwater. Her extended family include Trina Hickson and Robert Martinez and children Kevin and Kori Rogers, all of Sweetwater; Danica and Glenn Mills and daughter Levi Little, all of Sweetwater; Jennifer and Dodi Williams and children Alyssa, Jacoby and Aaron, all of Loraine; Wayne (Bubba) and wife Darla Jones, Jr. of Sweetwater; Billy and Misty Guelker and children Brenon and Braiden Moore, Branson Guelker and the late Brooklynn Guelker, all of Roscoe; Rhonda and Wayne Dorman of Sweetwater; and very special friends, Donna and Rick Adams of Weatherford. Linda and Richard are known in the family as Nanny Po and Papaw Po and they loved to travel in their fifth wheel trailer to Ruidoso and Alto, New Mexico and staying at Bonito Hollow R.V. Park with their two Shih Tsu puppies Scooter and Cocoa and also enjoyed traveling to Camp Wood, Texas. Linda and Richard also were big supporters of the Children’s Advocacy Center, Nolan County Livestock Association and The Noah Project. In 2011 the Nolan County Livestock Show was dedicated to Linda and Richard. They were very active with Sweetwater FFA and they helped to start the annual Bar- B- Que Benefit for the eighth grade Washington D.C. trip. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Johnson, Doug Richards, Dennis Cumbie, Wayne (Bubba) Jones, Dodi Williams and Jeff Farquar. Linda requested that memorials be made to the West Texas Children’s Advocacy Center, Nolan County Livestock Association or The Noah Project in lieu of flowers.
