Linda loved the Casey-Tate book! There have been few novels that I’ve worried so much about. This book was mega-difficult to write, every scene, every plot piece, was hard to figure out, and I had no idea if I’d done a good job or not. She came to my apartment so I could bombard her with questions. My main concern was whether or not she liked the play at the end. It took me a week to write it and I had books open around me and sliding off my lap desk. I had to go over Jane Austen scene by scene and try to paraphrase it and get all of it in there. It was an intense week! Even after I finished it I realized I’d left out 2 sections. The worry was that it was too long and therefore boring. I broke the sections up with Lydia and Wickham. Linda was surprised by what I did with Kit and Olivia so that was nice. She said she hasn’t looked at my Facebook page for days because she was afraid I was blasting her for taking so long reading it. I mentioned it but didn’t tell how worried I was — or maybe I did. A huge weight is lifted off me. I figured it could go either way, that she would love it or hate it. This is hard to believe but she likes it better than the Jamie book. That shocked me!! I remember that I told of my worry about having Stacy, Casey, Gizzy. Linda said I had to change Stacy’s name. It will be Shay. No eeee sound on the end. And I have to add a Lori scene. Oh how I wish I didn’t have to go to Florida to clear out a house. It will take me about 2 weeks. I remind myself that it’s a one-time deal and I never have to do it again. Then I can go on with Olivia’s story. I asked Linda if she now understood why I HAD to write a Summer House book and fix Olivia’s life. And once I do, then I can do something with Rowan. Have any of you ever decided that you no longer wanted to own things? Or are you a saver and keep everything? Jude
