Listening to peter paul and mary as I work.. this is the music of my generation, those of us who came of age between the fifties, sixties and seventies.. the same generation who now has the fate of the world in its hands... whatever happened to all of our great propositions... that we sang and listened to in our music, music which still stirs young people today. When did we get too old to understand what we once held to be fundamental truths? I am very saddened by what is happening across the USA... a sort of figurative Shermans March to the sea... leaving behind it broken people, burned cities, division among races and generations... will we ever be able to rebuild.. maybe the towns.. but the souls? will we ever be able to mend the broken men, women and children left in the wake of the violence?
