Literally minutes after swearing to myself that I would NOT read one more thing about Woody Allen, I came across this blog post I wrote in 2006 that I had completely forgotten about. Whats most fascinating to me is that while I was wringing my hands over my judgment/non-judgment of Allen, it was all centered on the Soon-Yi affair, I never mentioned the allegations regarding Dylan Farrow. Did I and many people completely forget about all that in between 1993 and the latest mishegoss? Everything about this post surprised me, including my intense feelings about Match Point, one of Allens films that Ive retained zero memory of. (Penelope Wilton is in it? I need to watch that again!) But I did, do, and will always loathe that comment from Woodys 1990s press conference, The heart wants what it wants. SO WHAT, is my reply. Or as Cher would say in Moonstruck, after slapping the shit out of Nicolas Cage, SNAP OUT OF IT!
