Little Targets Goals Written by Andrew Dickson Little Targets Goals ANDY LITTLE is looking for his first goal of 2013/14 in tonight’s friendly with Dundee as he looks to build on last season’s good return in attack. The Northern Ireland international was awarded the Sam English Bowl for being the club’s top league scorer as the Third Division title was won. He formed an excellent striking partnership with captain Lee McCulloch as they found the net 51 times together, the best return from a Gers forward pairing in 20 years. Little has so far failed to get off the mark in the Light Blues’ pre-season games and the Ramsdens Cup defeat of Albion Rovers on Sunday. He has played well though and sees this evening’s trip to Tayside as a good opportunity to break his duck for the new term. Little is part of a 20-man pool which is travelling to Dens Park and you can find out more about who else has been included by clicking HERE. The 24-year-old said: “After last season, I have an expectation of myself because I’ve got confidence and I know I can go and score a good number of goals in a season now. “I’m more than happy just to work hard and keep a place in the team but I’d like to think I can score more. “If I’m setting up others in the team I’m happy with that because I know I’ll get chances myself. I had a couple at the weekend and they’ll come. “I feel I’ll take them so I’ve not got too annoyed with myself when goals haven’t come so far because I don’t think I’m too far away. “If I can get one in the net though that would be great and it would be good to do that in the game at Dundee. “I appreciate though that if I’m hitting the target and I’m working the keeper there’s no point in getting too frustrated about it because I’m still doing the right things.”
