Liverpool FC are reportedly set to make a move for Atletico Madrid midfield orchestrator, Arda Turan, in the January transfer window. The Turkish midfielder has been a key part of such a successful Atletico side, who have grown and grown into an evolving European giant under the stewardship of Diego Simeone. With 57 goals and over 100 assists from his 300 odd club games, Turan is certainly a talent who can handle the physical side of the Premier League. Reports are suggesting the playmaker could be worth up to £20 million and with his agent confirming he is willing to move on and sacrifice Champions League football, a move to Liverpool could be in the cards. Brendan Rodgers is interested in signing the Turkish international in a bid to bolster Liverpools rather thin squad. However the high asking price could be too steep for the Northern Irishman. Turan has been part of the Atletico squad this season who have started magnificently. Theyve been on an impeccable run and also defeated Real Madrid a month ago at the Bernabeu, winning 1-0. If Liverpool do not succeed in bringing him in, Rodgers could bring in Derby midfielder Will Hughes to reinforce the midfield.
