Living Water International has been drilling boreholes and repairing broken handpumps along the Pacific coast of Nicaragua since 2001 with an established team of trained nationals. In 2005, short-term volunteer teams began traveling into Nicaragua to drill wells and conduct hygiene education in these areas. Mission teams drill wells of 80 feet or more that are capable of producing clean, safe water for villages of 150 to 200 people.
