Living in Florida, Ive learned that a breathtaking sunset can often be followed by an equally breathtaking sunrise. I tested that belief this morning and it proved to be quite true. This is over Sarasota Bay and there were some incredible details. The sunlight was bringing out the boat trails across the waters surface and you can also see virga in the upper portion of the photograph. Virga is precipitation that is not reaching the ground, so it just hovers right below the clouds before it evaporates. Youll notice this a lot in Florida, and its always a bonus if you can spot it when the sunlight gives it a brilliant, golden glow. I walked five miles on an island beach after I took this photo and I highly recommended it.
