Lmao this guys is hilarious. Noone is saying Jeter is the best, noone is crowning him a god. We give him a farewell tour for what he has meant to baseball for always being a figure of baseball and its also a marketing strategy im sure if this was the old days jeter dorsnt get a farewell tour and im sure he wouldve been fine with it. But wen this guys sits there and says Arod means nore than Jeter im sorry but Arods career along with alot of players means absolutely nothing due to the fact he was on steroids which assissted his career. Jeter symoblizes everything right about baseball thats what this tour and marianos tour is all about. Not that these 2 guys were the greatest, they were consistently good ppayers their whole career whove amassed numbers hall of fame worthy but they played the game correctly. My childhood memories is Jeter and Mariano and that whole team that one those championships. Yes paul oneil bernie and the rest of that team won but if u ask who led them they admit jeter was the one who led them by example. This man hustled everything and theres something to be said about that in a game where hustling doesnt mean anything anymore. The yankees knew every year that jeter was going to be the shortstoo and play at least 150+ games a year sure he had injuries but some of them werent his fault in toronto he hustled into third and dislocated his shoulder sliding head first into the catcher covering third. 2 years ago he broke his ankle. Those are injuries u cannot avoid. The best shortstoo today Tulo cant stay on the field for more than 130 games. Jeters not the best shortstop of all time but if i were to choose out of the lot of them i would take him cuz hes a leader, cuz hes consistent, cuz he carries himself like no other player has. So Olbermann give all the numbers you want but once again no1 calls him the best the word i hear most from people is leader and thats what makes him who he is.
