Lobbyists promote their clients interests at the expense of - TopicsExpress

Lobbyists promote their clients interests at the expense of society sometimes. Lobbyists also promote their clients interests at times which are for the greater good of society. It all depends on what their ultimate goal is. When our ultimate goal is unbridled profits for the provincial interest of investors who are willing to sacrifice the many, for the sake of the few, we get the quagmire we have today. The client here is pharmaceutical companies, not all of whom have lost their way. Many, it seems, have lost their way. The consensus of the industry is increasing competition for the most profits as the highest ideal which comes at the expense of those whom they started out trying to help. Lobbyists are mere attorneys for investors. Neither of which profession operates in a vacuum. When and if both investors and their advocates who know how to control the allocation of scarce resources allow honor, rather than domination of the law, to drive them in their pursuits, we may just have a chance to see some real change. When all three branches of our current state and federal overseers keep their promises, their rhetoric which they employed to get elected and appointed will finally comport with results that benefit us all. If they will remember who they all exist to serve, it may be possible to see policy that benefits the most people actually put it into practice!
