Lochinvar Matters Lawn mower stolen from Lochinvar Anglican Church Between Wednesday and Saturday of last week unknown miscreants broke into a shed belonging to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Lochinvar and stole a John Deer brand lawn tractor and a Sthil brand edge trimmer. Police are calling on any person with information to contract Maitland Police on 49340200 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Man discovered driving an unregistered vehicle whilst having possession of a sword. On Saturday afternoon, a 33 year old Rutherford resident was stopped by Highway patrol in Lochinvar, after his vehicle was found to be in poor mechanical condition. A subsequent registration check revealed the vehicle to be unregistered and uninsured. What disturbed police was when the vehicle was stopped there was a readily accessible samurai sword in the vehicle. After investigation it was found that the weapon was allegedly being carried for protection which is unlawful. The man will be attending Court and the sword has been confiscated.
