London (UK) was my home for over 20 years, until my move to Canterbury in 2013. I spent last weekend in my old city as a visitor. I got lost, learned new bus routes, fossicked in the bookshops of beautiful Bloomsbury, met old friends in new settings, hauled heavy luggage, hung out in Hampstead, Spitalfields and the Old Kent Road, immersed myself in market life, and turned a tourist gaze on the tribes and landscapes of the East End. It was great.
