Lone chairs high level meeting of Hr. Edu Deptt Discusses coordination issues between Colleges, Universities, inter-University coordination issues SRINAGAR, JULY 16:- Minister for Higher Education, Mr. Mohammad Akbar Lone today chaired a high level meeting convened to discuss the coordination issues between Colleges and Universities and coordination issues between Universities of the State. Mr. Lone emphasised upon University and College authorities to work with coordination and adhere to proper guidelines for improvement in the higher education system in the State besides offer best facilities and ensure quality education to the students. Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department, Mr. K B Agarwal, Vice Chancellor, Kashmir University, Prof. Talat Ahmad Vice Chancellor Jammu University, Prof. Isher Singh, Advisor, Higher Education Department, Prof. Nissar Ali, Director colleges Development Council, Director Colleges, Controller Examinations Jammu and Kashmir Universities, Nodal Principals of Jammu and Kashmir Universities, Principal College of Education and Senior principals from both the regions of the State were present in the meeting The meeting deliberated upon various issues pertaining to the Higher Education in State and discussed matters regarding eligibility of faculties of Post-Graduation centers of colleges by Universities as M.Phil/Ph.d research supervisor/guides, recognition and registration of these PG centers. The meeting also discussed the issue of faculty exchange programme between Colleges and Universities. The meeting underscored that academic exchange is required in the light of better qualified faculty present in colleges. The meeting also discussed about matters regarding the admission process being conducted at under graduate and post graduate levels.
