Long lunch down at Lorne, by the sea (Australia). Someone snuck in a bottle of 1978 Cos with the cheese. Several uninvited colourful guests. 1992 Rousseau Chambertin en magnum.Unfortunately quite oxidised & not enjoyable. Only dud of the day. 2004 Castagnier Latricieres. Very good, no hint of the greenies, quite complex but still some primary fruit. Drink now IMHO. 1998 Trapet Chapelle. Deep, tannic, still not really together, some secondary characters, leather, etc emerging. 1998 Amiot MStD 1er Charmes, elegant, well balanced, long, drinking well, but still no hurry to drink up. Has the Morey cherries there. 2006 Follin-Arbelet Corton Bressandes. Quite youthful, fine tannins & good acid to balance the fruit. Enjoyable, but needs another 5 yrs. 2010 Rapet Corton Ch. Lots of acid & minerality, needs quite some time. 2004 P Javillier Meursault Charmes, more like a Perrieres with that minerality. Lovely fruit with no hint of oxidation, prem or other. Best white. 2006 Sauzet Montrachet. Still quite dumb in the mid palate, great length of fruit however. Hints of apricot kernels showing a little premox. Not a bad drink, but disappointing given the vineyard & maker.
