Long night! Putting the final touches on the October issue...a few of our video interviews (WELL worth waiting for!) are in final production and will be ready later today. I will post the zine here just as soon as it goes LIVE! Our Art Director, Jay Petsko, has done it again--as always, he delivered an epic cover, inside cover, and creative design for our featured artist Lois Greco. Mark Mesko is the gifted photographer that shot the cover photo. As we are a fully interactive magazine, two of our videographers Scotty J and Ken Jones are taking advantage of this by featuring their fabulous video productions by Rock Titan TV and Ken Jones Imagery (respectively). I am stoked about having both these talented individuals in ION Indie Magazine! Another nuance we are presenting is photo spreads by concert photographers...Timothy Schumann makes his ION debut in this issue and Chris Wurtinger will join us in November. I know our readers will LOVE this addition to the publication! The November Issue will be my last as a writer for ION. My schedule demands as Editor of the fastest growing online Independent music magazine deems that I focus more intensively on the administrative and marketing aspects of the publication. Additionally, my new gig with Star One Entertainment Group/Star 1 Records (licensed by Viacom), heading up their Artist Relations Department will also require my attention, as it launches October 1. As ION grows, our staff continues to expand to provide more coverage of the Independent artists that we select from our submissions...and the submissions are taking on a life of their own! Over 5500 last month and already, over 2000 for the November Issue. We are grateful for the efforts of our dynamic Submissions Manager, Journalist and Broadcast DJ Yvonne Day (KAFM Radio, Grand Junction, CO), for lending her expert ear to this task! The music that streams in our magazine each month is forwarded to our broadcast partners for consideration for their regular rotation. We are proud that many artists that have graced our pages are now getting regular airplay! It is part of our initiatives vision to get Independent music written about and HEARD! Journalist Jere Perry is our Broadcast Media Coordinator that pulls it all together and expedites this monumental task. As always, I am grateful to these dedicated individuals and the entire staff of ION Indie Magazine, for making this publication the success that it is.
