**Long post, sorry in advance :) Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! I was planning on getting on and posting but was busy most of the day! Brians uncle and mom came in for the day, and the kids dont get to travel to visit much with Chris appointments so I take on most of the cooking so they can spend much needed family time with nana and uncle william.:) One thing that happens when you have a kid with cancer is people pull away. They are suddenly too busy to visit or do things with. Phone calls become less frequent or non-existent. People say, Well I figured your too busy or its too sad to see him sick. The one time in your life you expect people to rally to your side more, it often has the opposite effect. We have seen it happen alot to families, but its hardest on kids. They dont understand why family member x/friend y is no longer around as much so they feel a sense of rejection. So they cherish time with people wanting to visit :) In addition to the cooking I had my momcologist hat on because Chris body decided to keep us on our toes! Cancer doesnt know Christmas! He was complaining of lightheadedness/dizziness/headaches. So I took his blood pressure and it was 107/64 Not bad, a little low but he hadnt taken any of his bp meds. So I called Dr Echkrich on call to see if I should have him take them. He said no, skip am and take PM...but keep an eye on them. So I took his bp every hrs or so. Well as the day went on it dropped lower and lower and at one point was 93/61. I was getting a little worried and just frustrated that yet again as things SEEM to start FINALLY leveling off...something comes up. So he goes and takes a nap and comes back down and his feet were swollen like footballs. His bp was 87/59. I am debating calling the doc. Told him to walk around go up/down steps to see if that helps. About an hour later it was up to 115/69 so I felt it was high enough to give his lasik. Just craziness. It was low again when he would have taken at pm meds so we skipped it. I called clinic this am to let them know things were crazier than when I called yesterday so we could come when a doc could check him out since they are on skeleton crew. His appointment went well. He isnt as swollen today, (of course :) ) His BP was back to normal this am so we took the pills like he should. His platelets are still creeping up to 69k and hemoglobin went up to 9.5 Dr Echkrich thinks he might have been dehydrated and due to kidney/gvh probs when he started hydrating that it leaked to cause puffiness and dehydration can cause low bp. HOPEFULLY no more problems with that!! His bp was good so far, about average all day! Prayers continue for forward movement and no more setbacks!! Thank you for all of the love and support shown our family this Christmas. We were absolutely blown away by the love! The kids enjoyed going to walmart with hometown heroes on Christmas eve.....here is a clip from the news. Our family is so thankful for their support over the year and doing this for all the families every year!! (Watch for Chris and his sister Hannah in video) ~Michelle
